General Questions:

Question: Do I have to be a Cowtown Bowmen member to submit an article?
Answer: No. You do not need to be a Cowtown Bowmen member to submit an article.

Question: Why do you need my name and my email address?
Answer: All of the information you submit is attached to and sent directly to the Editor. The Editor may need to contact you if there is a question, needs more information, or there is a problem encountered receiving your article or attached pictures.

Question: Who has the final decision on which articles, which or how many pictures, or what general information will be published in the Cowpatty?
Answer: Just like in any other news publication the Editor will determine the final content and format of each Cowpatty that is published. We are always looking for news to share with our membership and usually space is not a problem, but if you do have a specific question about content or pictures, you can always contact the Editor.

Text: Paragraphs & Spaces (back to top)

Question: Why do I need to use [p] and a blank line between my paragraphs?
Answer: Sometimes the text in a an article submitted will be received without any spaces inserted for line breaks or to show where the writer meant to start a new paragraph. By inserting the [p] at the end of your last sentence in a paragraph, and then a blank line, the Editor will know where your paragraph ends and a new one starts even if the form is received without the blank line to separate it. This just makes it easier for the Editor to publish an article the way the author meant it to appear in the Cowpatty.

Adding Pictures: (back to top)

Question: Do I need to include a picture? If I do include pictures, how many may I include with an article?
Answer: Whether you include a picture or pictures is totally up to you. If you would like to include pictures one to two would be plenty.

Question: What size picture and which picture format would be the best to use?
Answer: A picture size somewhere around 650 x 488 pixels in a JPG format would be great, but send what you have if you are unable to resize a larger picture or change it's format. Depending on the type of internet connection you have a large picture may take a long time to load. We really do enjoy pictures though and will edit your picture it at this end if needed. Please Note: Small pictures usually don't appear as clear after they have been enlarged so it's always better to take a large picture and resize it smaller.

Question: How do I send pictures?
Answer: Use the "Browse" button located just under the large text box to locate a picture that is stored on your computer or disk. Double click on your selected picture or file name and it will be added to the "Image Upload" box and attached to your article. Unless you put your pictures in a folder only one picture at a time can be attached to your article. Including a Second Picture: Go ahead and "submit" your article with the first picture attached. After your information is sent (if everything worked correctly) you will be automatically directed  to a conformation page stating that your information has been sent with out any errors. You will have the option to "Submit another Article" or just use your "Back Button" on your browser to return to your information. Use your "Back Button" on your browser to return. This way all for your information will still be in the form, but the "Image Upload" will be cleared so you can add your second picture. All of your contact information and the Title of your article will already be filled in for you. Just delete the body (text) of your article (you might type in "picture # 2 is attached" in place of your article (text) so the Editor will be sure to look for it) and use the "Image Upload" again to include your second picture. Find and include your second picture the same way you did the first one. Click the "Submit" button (one time) and your second picture will be on the way. You will be automatically directed again (if everything worked correctly) to the conformation page stating that your information has been sent with out any errors. That's it...... and thanks for the extra effort!

Note: Files may also be attached and included with your article or as just information.. Just use the same procedure you would use for pictures.
